Every passionate indian cricket fan indulges in things like cooking up dream teans
i have done it and I am sure that it is going to be an enjoyable exercise
so let me start my passionate exercise
first the openers
i would like to go for aggressiveness combined with sound technique
so shahid afridi is out guys I am sorry but he smashes 60 one day and gets out on 5 the other I want a consistent player
one choice would be
virender sehwag
who is much more consistent than afridi although I feel that he has to calm down a bit after 45 runs and has to check his tempo
a perfect foil to him I feel would be
marcus treschotick
marcus is a fine player who has excellent timing and is aggressive yet he can be a anchor too he can play pace bowling fairly well and can move his feet well aginst the spinners too has a good average and can be deadly in the first 15 overs
he can be a perfect foil to sehwag
now comes the position of debate
the third place who is it gonna be
some one who is consistent and can drop anchor who can hold up the batting if the top order collapses and someone who is technically sound and can play pace and spin equally well
my choice
rahul the wall dravid
now who will be at the fourth position? its debatable isnt it ?
sachin tendulkar who else ?
it has to be the little master his position is debatable he can either open with sehwag or can come in at no 4 what shall I say about the worlds best batsman
would run out of words he stands like a rock in the middle of a storm
now who would come in next some one who can play dashing strokes and chip in with more than useful bowling
it is has to be andrew flintoff he has performed very well of late is consistent is surely a world class all rounder and the best part is he has a focussed head unlike in the past wherein he was inconsistent had put on weight
andy has to be followed by another allrounder since all rounders hold the aces today
my choice would be jacques kallis explosive with the bat and can bowl too these two all rounders would make any fans day when they are on song
now who would be the wicket keeper ?????
well I was almost tempted to use adam gilchrist but I think in a batting line up of this calibre well ill take the risk of going with bredon mccullum who can keep well and chip in with useful runs
now for the bowlers
my first selection would be zaheer khan
he bowls well brings the ball into the right hander and on his day can be devestating and bowl a good outswinger to the lefties also
since we already have two pace bowlers in the side I would try to throw the opposition into a loop by going in for two class spinners
1 anil kumble
lets face it he is a deadly bowler may not turn the ball as much as harbahajan does but I would like him to contain the run rate I mean lets give a fair chance the totals these days are amazing 300 is normal !!
the backup spinner well I will like to go in for murali karthik spins the ball well and well im backing youth as well and he is a good prospect
i am going for an unconventional team in the sense that I am trying to back exciting new prospects
my choice as a bowler would be martin suji of kenya tall lanky bowler has a hand in kenyas few victories and I think talent has to be appreciated
my final bowler would be heath streak wo is a underrated bowler who can bowl well and is a crafty exp bowler
the captain sachin tendulkar of course a man of his class will command respect and he has a shrewd brain as well
so there you have it
my imagination runneth wild
