You might have browsed a thousand websites and read a thousand more stories on crime. But, have you ever come off it affected? With a churning feeling in your tummy, a heavy load on your heart? Have you driven home preoccupied with what youd just read? Have you rolled around in your bed thinking of gut-wrenching human (or inhuman) tales?
Welcome to the crime library.
I was deeply affected by some of the stories (all real life) I read at this site. An ordinary looking guy who stores human flesh and heads in his refrigerator; a cold Nazi who tries to make economic sense out of the tonnes of Jewish bones; an angelic young girl child who cunningly murders other smaller kids; a doctor who finds a thrill in killing his unsuspecting patients; an US President and his men who knock off a drug-disturbed Marilyn Monroe because she was becoming too much of a publicity liability; a prisoner who turns out to be the worlds best avian scientist fighting a prison system with guile. The list goes on.
Though the stories seem disturbing - very disturbing - to begin with, they somehow have a very cleansing, calming effect on your soul eventually. You ponder over the abysmal depths that a human mind cam plummet to. When you realise these are real stories of real people, you wonder where we are headed as a race. You debate in your mind about the basic nature of man - are we, by nature, good or evil? Is civil living a mere suppression of our evil instincts or is carnality a sickness, an aberration? Even more quietening (or disquietening) is the strange feeling that you yourself have had similar thoughts and urges as some of the people in these stories.
Its a must visit site for anyone whos interested in the human mind and studying social behaviour.
But, dont say I didnt warn you.
