And so goes to the story of Steve Irwin, the wildman who was wilder than the crocs he used to jump or the snakes he used to kiss, or the lizards he used to laze around with.
Anyone who knows Animal Planet, knows Steve, and anyone who knows Steve, knows the Crocodile Hunter.
It shall be a long time before someone so passionate would come about masquerading with a mission to protect wildlife. And in truth, few have the good fortune to have lived a life as Steve did. From the Sarenghti plains to the Australian coastline and from the jungles of Malaysia to the thickets of the Amazon... he has seen em all!
But so should we. Conservation is not an act of God nor an act of a one man army. But conservation is a consequence of our concern...our serious concern to make a difference about Nature. To preserve it in its grandeur, to give life back to it that it so much deserves. To make people realize that plucking a lame leaf off a tree or a flower from a rose is as romantic as it is destructive. Balance is intricate to whatever we do in life, and Nature knows no other rule too.
So here is to the Crocodile man, an icon that few could dare to be... but should be.
