Loot in the Name of Extended Warranty

I purchased a Nokia phone in April 2010 from the Malad Croma store. I also took an extended warranty by paying Rs.300/- for 2 years. Little did I know that its just a money making racquet.


Firstly the extended warranty nos cant be dialed from a mobile phone, only from a land line- hence if you dont have a landline u cant even reach them.


Secondly when I approched them for my mobile repair- the standard answer that everyone gets(there were a few others in the queue) is that the repair wil take min 15-25 days. The reason being that there is a weekly dispatch from Croma - Malad to the respective service centers and its not every day, Hence the item to be repaired will be dispatched when the next delivery is scheduled. Similarly the case with the return of the item. Hence they take min 15-25 days. If you cant wait, you go to the service center yourself and get it done.


There are several Nokia service centers around Croma - Malad(Malad -E & Goregoan W) which can be easily accessible, but Croma has an agreement with the one situated at DN Nagar - Andheri W, hence you are supoosed to go there and get the work done yourself.


One is left with no other option but to either wait for 15-25 days or do it yourself!
