Chroma Online Unfair and False Product Policy

I had order for Gas Geyser with Croma online - Racold ODS-ECO 6 Litres Instant Water Geyser(12000 Watts, 3803210, White)* with order ID*263910662144.


The photos & key features did not disclose that the Geyser will work only on LPG. Screenshot of product page and photo attached.


The Racold technician who came to install the geyser pointed out that this model works only for LPG & showed the symbol of the product cover. This large LPG symbol was not present on the website photo and even the key features on the product page. The product page offered Refund / Replacement within 7 days. Even though I cancelled the product within 7 days. Croma refused to refund the money.


The technician also revealed that such cases are very common in online purchase. Therefore, it is seen that Croma is habitual of such misconduct, where products different from the photos are sold and then refused to refund. Chroma is guilty of the following.




  1. Displaying Product Page, different from the actual product packet photo.




  2. This online product photo suppresses important visible LPG indicator symbol which is present clearly in large symbol in the actual product packer delivered.




  3. This product page photo is misleading.




  4. Such usage PNG / LPG is not indicated in Key Features of product where it is only mentioned “Heat Source: Gas”




  5. Technicians who visit state that this is a common problem with online purchase




  6. Although Refund / Replacement is promised within 7 days, The product is neither replaced nor refunded.




  7. Consumers ends up paying for product which is not usable at all.




  8. These are unfair policies of Chroma and not only against Consumer Welfare but also outright deceives the Consumer who suffers wrongful loss and Chroma benefits by wrongful gain.






Therefore,


A. Refund the Price paid for an unusable product.


B. Direct to NOT show misleading photos about products to induce sale.


C. Direct to accept Refund / Replacement within the promised period.
