I am writing to bring up the abusive nature of Croma and its associated agencies in harassing me for purchasing a product from Croma retail.
To start with, on 20th February, I purchased a mini Videocon refrigerator from Croma retail, Wanowrie, Pune. The buying experience left a lot to be desired as their booking system was not accepting the refrigerator I had chosen. I ended up waiting for nearly half an hour before my details were punched in their system. At that point in time, I was assured that the delivery of the product would be completed next day by 4pm.
When I was paying the bill at the counter, the cashier was trying to push a 500mAh Croma battery bank. Initially, I declined the offer politely; however, when the cashier became adamant and started pushing the product on to me, I had to sternly demonstrate my dissatisfaction. In all this drama, I ended up wasting nearly an hour for a process which was hardly of 15 minutes.
Hence, the overall purchasing process was rather mediocre and most of the chroma salesmen were no great shakes either. Undoubtedly, I would really look away from such a store in the future.
Again, the real pathetic experience started next day at 9 am, when I had been expecting the delivery at the stipulated time frame. I received a call from VG service -representing Videocon- early in the morning, mentioning that they received a request from the Croma store to rectify my Videocon television. After hearing this out, I was pretty taken aback and ended up explaining the caller that there was apparently a mistake from either Croma or his representatives in interpreting sales information, as I had purchased a refrigerator and not a television. What is more, after an hour from this call, a lady(again from VG service- https://vgservice.co.in/) rang me reiterating the previous query of a faulty television. I really had patience up to this moment to explain her some kind of error on the part of her companys or Cromas team while entering my product purchase details in their system. Now, although I thought this was the end of the misconceived calls, I was pretty wrong about it. I ended up receiving 3 more calls of similar nature throughout the day, from different individuals of VG service, and at that point in time, I started regretting of buying the refrigerator from Croma.
The delivery was not smooth either. Even though the Croma guys committed delivery by 4 pm, I ended up getting the material by 9.30 pm; that too only when I had to make a couple of phone calls at 6 pm to forestall the abeyance of delivery.
Obviously, when the company demanded feedback after delivery, I rated the service 1 on the scale of 1 to 5. This was another mistake on my part besides visting the Croma store. After this, I started getting calls after calls from Croma outsource centre in Hyderabad, Croma representatives in Pune and VG service employees throughout the following week inquiring the reason for the poor feedback. Cutting to the chase, on 25th both the company officials decided to send an engineer on the same day to provide a free demonstration to me in order to compensate for the abusive nature of their calls. However, till date, no engineer has bothered to visit my place, and I have not heard further from anyone either. Thus, the deliberation of a free demonstration, apparently, has been a gimmick to please me. What is funny, I have again received an sms for rating the overall buying experience of Croma. Guess, what should be done?
All in all, I would very vehemently propound enthusiasts against going to the Croma store and, in case, you come across one, just look away from it.
