Crime Scene Investigation
I have been hooked onto a channel called Spike(in Florida) and have been spending close to 4 or 5 hours over the past 2 or 3 week ends watching CSI - Criminal Intent.
When I was in India I used to watch Special Squad and the truth is CSI is truly terrific.
The plot is very good and the characterization is also very optimal. There is not too much of importance to any of the characters so as to reveal who the killer is or would be. Also, in certain episodes they also show how the law can not make decisions based on science’s foundation alone.
I especially like an episode that had a child prodigy studing in high school in the same grade as her elder brother(who was 5 years elder to her); the depth of the characters was etched so very meticulously and in the climax when this child prodigy discloses the truth to an agent that it was her brother that had committed the prank(leading to a death) it puts a smile on one’s face. How much this young girl had planned and was able to recover her brother from the hands of law is truly described on that episode.
The highlight of each episode is the ’confession’ and most importantly the ’reason’ or ’excuse’ that the killer provides for his/her act. On one of the episodes, the killer says that his wife was ’nagging’ him - one should look at the reaction etched on Grisham’s face to this.
This entire set-up is part of the LVPD(Vegas Crime Lab and PD) and has been created to closely match with the reality.
Thanks for your time and please feel free share your thoughts.
