We took a 6 nights 7 days kerala tour. The tour operator was in constant touch trying to convince us to buy the package. When we finally bought it, he said he will send the itinerary 2 days prior to dates which he did send. First few days were good. Then there was the nationwide strike and we were supposed to be at Abad hotel Kovalam. The Abad hotel was a good 15 km from Kovalam beach and in a v shitty area. First of all, we were not aware that Abad hotel was that far from Kovalam beach as the itinerary said Kovalam beach and it was assumed that the hotel should be in vicinity of Kovalam beach.
We tried calling D pauls to change our hotel to some hotel in Kovalam beach since bcoz of the strike no transportation was available and secondary Abad hotel was in a far off location. We called the Emergency nos of D Pauls which was switched off during the daytime. Then we spoke to the local coordinator several times in Kerala and also the Delhi coordinator several times. They kept saying that they will take care of this but eventually no one called us to let us know what was going on. At the end, we had to go to Abad hotel and ended up wasting 2 days of our vacation. D Pauls has nothing to do with you once he has got his full payment.
No cooperation or effort was noted from them to solve the issue. It is understandable that they cannot do anything about the strike but they could easily shift our hotels as Feb is not a peak tourist season for Kerala.
Will not take tours from this company anymore.
