This might surprise everyone.. read more below...

Readers.

I’m pretty sure that many of us don’t know certain stuff about how negligent Videocon is.

Recently I happened to check the account details on the tv screen due to the unusual pop ups I was getting.and what I   came across is a complete different user name and a complete different profile having no signs of my account details in the profile. I immediately contacted the customer service guys. I was said my set top box needs to be replaced and that i’d be charged for that! .Now just Imagine. for eg. You have bought a smartphone and a sim card. the sim suddenly is appearing to be on someone else’s name you don’t know and the service provider is gonna resolve the glitch only on you paying for services. Sounds freaking idiotic right? The situation here is exactly the same with Videocon dth. They are charging me for their system glitches! How bold of them to charge customers for such breach of privacy! breach of personal information! and what not. a complaint against them can land them in big trouble but they are not considering the fact that how this could affect their goodwill. they just don’t give a damn! Its pretty easy for me to get away with this by paying for the charges and not take this headache. but if I pay them for the service They will be able to get away with this easily without understanding the vulnerability of the data breach happening. If this is someone else’s profile on my account there could be so many such errors one wouldn’t even know. Just imagine all your details on someone else’s account and you don’t even know. and who knows how can they be misused!

Ideally they could face a situation where they might have to pay penalty for the lack of data security if I happen to complaint.

On repeatedly questioning the dth customer care the executive happened to admit the dth set top box that was replaced was a used one. further clarifying that they always replace with a used one. Even While replacing I suspected and asked the technician if the box was used. He strongly defended. That they don’t sell used things and I trusted his words. but now after over a year of replacement I get to know its a used one and that’s how they do for everyone. Guys keep this in mind this could be a very common mistake happening around and something that might not catch your attention easily

Guys please share this to make them realise this is not something they can get away with. as this data breach can be happening with many people not realizing help me spread this word and so that videocon dth knows they cannot fool customers and further they don’t take such things lightly. I’m attaching certain screenshots too
