What does one expect from a sequel? More than the previous one.. Right? So if you have enjoyed Dabangg and Chulbul Pandey in 2010 than in 2012 they are back with more masala, more music, more masti and more of more.
Dabangg2 is set in the city of Kanpur (UP) where Chulbul Pandey got transferred with his wish and living with his father (Vinod Khanna), wife (Sonakshi SInha) and Brother (Arbaaz Khan). The public of Kanpur is restless due to violence and corruption by its local Neta, Bacchha (Prakash Raj) which our Chulbul ji decides to settle down by his Dabanggiri.
Personally I didn’t enjoy Dabangg in 2010 much but Dabangg 2 is much better than its predecessor. It got superb music, nice choreography, funny dialogues, solid action and yes this time a solid villain (Prakash Raj). Undoubtedly the movie has the charisma of Salman khan all over and he only manages to hold everything strong when something went weak. Sonakshi is fantastic as Chulbul Pandey’s wife so is Vinod Khanna as his father. Arbaaz is average and limited in role since he is holding the director’s seat this time. Prakash Raj is as always convincing even as a UPwala Bhaiya. Mahi gill thou just for an appearance manages to get the maximum hooting from the audience after Salman Khan.
Now the Director’s part, Arbaaz Khan as a first time director did a decent job and keep each and every minute detail in mind to carry forward the Dabangg Franchise. Also he tries to keep the balance between all expect the length. The First half of the movie is extremely long and it is recommended to get it short by 15-20 mins thou second half is well placed.
Sajid-Wajid as music director did an exceptionally good work and manages to maintain the soul of Dabangg franchise. Aseem Mishra as a cinematographer is fine but there were lot areas to explore more, might be it lacks proper directorial guidance. Malaika Arora will surprise you and Kareena Kapoor will blow you.Luckily ‘Fevicol se’ has much more to offer than what you have seen on TV and that’s a good strategy by producers. The Song ‘Dagabaaz Re’ is beautifully choreographed, well written, nicely sung and well placed.
Again if ‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘Son of Sardaar’, ‘Dabangg’, ‘Bodyguard’ regime of movies entertained you in the past, Dabangg 2 will not disappoint you. Logic beings are suggested to stay away. Regards
