Daddy Cool to make us Fool

Daddy definitely looks Cool in his appearance(mostly in Armani’s suits, leather jackets and formals) Iam taking about Mammotty’s new outing as Crime branch CI Antony Simon in the movie "Daddy Cool", He takes his job also very cool so most of the time he get things messed up due to his laziness and careless nature.

The Story

Movie begins with Birthday celebration of Antony’s Son Aadi(Dananjay) at School where he says his Teacher and classmates about his Super Hero Daddy. The movie proceeds with a Crime Branch Operation to nail an Underworld Don named "Bheem Bhai" Played by AshishVidyarthi. Antony gets suspension as the Crime Branch team fails to catch him. The film proceeds to an incident which brings back honour and respect to Antony.

The First Half is more on to Father-Son and family relationships and post interval portions covers Antony’s adventures as a Cop.

The Cast

The Problem with Daddy Cool is the absence of a strong script. The film turns out predictable and amateurish most of the times. Mamooty has nothing new to offer except walking in slow motion with designer clothes. He sleep walks through the half baked Role and fails to Deliver in the emotional scenes due tothe lack of proper screenplay.Mammotty Fans have a treat for eyes as the mega star Walks in style throughout which no other actor in Malayalam could do.

Richa Pallod comes up with the "Worst" performance of recent times.Added to her artificial expressions the dubbing is out of place and gives us a feeling as if we are watching a dubbed telugu or Tamil movie. Her introductory Scene itself turns into a dud with her amateurish acting skills.

Child Artist Dananjay comes up with a decent performance.

Talented Artist Ashish Vidyarthi is wasted in a poorly executed role of a underworld goon

Biju Menon, Radhika and Suraj Venjaramood add life to their characters.

Late Vetran Rajan P Dev is visible in a single Scene.

The Technical Crew

The film starts as a family drama and proceeds to an Action Thriller towards the end.

Technically the film is much better. Bijibals Music, Sameer Thahirs Camera and Graphics Support elevate the film to great extend. The songs are peppy and gel with the mood of the film.

Debutant Ashiq Abu’s intentions were right but his losses his focus and gets confused with a bad script. The Screenplay is a big letdown and makes you feel that you are watching a B grade tamil flick towards the climax.

The film has a good technical crew, Great Cast, High production values but the director fails to mix the ingredients in right proportion. As a new comer AshiqAbu’s film may look promising but only in parts. Daddy Cool had the right kind of elements to become a potential hit but the faulty screenplay makes it just an average film.
