Sorry to differ from the general opinion about the car.
I have a cielo since 4 years. I bought it for 1.8L and have been using ever since.
Im getting an average of 10 - 11 within Bangalores busy streets. On highways, I always manage to get over 13-14kms in spite of constantly pushing the speedometer to 120+.
Frankly speaking, Im yet to see a machine that can match my cars performance. Its a dream machine to drive with excellent road grip and unmatched stability. It’s a pleasing view to notice my entire family resting so comfortably when I’m cruising at 3 digit speeds.
Maintenance wise, I dont think I have spent more than 15-20K in the last 4 years on my car though it’s a 96 model. Getting spares is not at all a problem. But I do agree with Rohitak47 (the other reviewer), knowing a good mechanic who understands the mechanism of this car is critical. People in Bangalore can contact me if they need any reference.
Finally, I feel the vehicle has been a victim of some adverse canvassing. I do understand the resale value is less but if you are a practical kind of a person who doesn’t usually run behind the latest and most famous. Then this is the best car for you. However, little care is required to check the history of the specific car.
In fact, I know a lot of people eyeing my car…. J
