Guys who worry about spare parts..Cool down.Our machine is still alive at some part of the world...Overall its Basically a GM motor.
Well This was an awesome car I have got for a budget rate. A cielo is just unbelievable for its quality and long running spare parts. As for any other sedan. the price ranges go highly up. If you are looking for a quality ride, spare parts at cheaper rates(almost equivalent to maruti 800) My best suggestion is to go for a Cielo, if you really know how a car works.
The one I have is a 1998 August model, Storm Grey, 1500cc, SOHC. I have never had any serious problems with this car. of course initially I had problems in getting spares, but now its available at cheap rates.
I was told from a renowned spare dealer Benz automobiles at chennai that the spares are easily availble in malaysia, and thats where they get it imported from. Guys/Gals...if you are looking for something comfortable with a decent mileage(LPG) . this car could be the best deal. I get a a city mileage of about 8km/ltr with A/c on petrol. I had also recently installed a BRC LPG conversion kit with the same. I roughly get 170 km / domestic cylinder. which works out to around Rs. 2/ km. Howzaat??
So buddies....when u invest........... think abt the comfort and style of a sedan before you end up buying a small dinky....

Before I end up lemme put some surprising facts to you ::
Cielo is having a GM (G15MF/ A15MF(auto tranny)) built engine which is manufactured at holden australia.
Cielos Engine with slight variations and transmission unit can also be found in the Opel Astra Petrol.
Gm has took over Daewoo’s korea plant which manufactures Daewoo Nubira which is renamed and marketed as Chevrolet Optra.
Now u should be comfy regarding the spares issues...better luck guys
