Title : Falloodahh Car
Review : We used to drink ’’Fallooda’’ drink after long weekly meetings at work, because it comes with full of dry nuts, quality ice creams, nice fruits and bigger quantity than its worth. So great deal for worth buying means we call it as ’’Fallooda deal’’.
Fallooda deal is the reason for buying this car for 1.2 lakhs. It is 1996 GLS, Nero Black. I put 16k over 36k miles within an year. Before this I was driving VolksWagon Jetta GLS that comes with a say ’’Drivers Wanted’’, of course it suits for this car too. I can compare VW Jetta (not in all aspects) with Daewoo Ceilo in driving comfort aspect.
What is ++++?
++You don’t feel any discomfort such as back pain, leg pain even after long drive. Its pick-up is better with any other mid size sedan now (2005) in the market.
++I get 8~10 miles in the city limit and 11~15 in the high ways, mostly that is depending on howfar you’re using in top gear and drive around 80 km speed.
++Amazing features which can be (better) comparable with currently available products. Sound system is good.
++With Gas it gives 220 ~ 240 km, but poor pickup in highways. Need to wait long seconds to catch 100 km, within city no problem
++ You’re safer than any other car, on par with GM vehicles
++No need to say about room space and boot space
++ You can find very good car(s) for 1~1.4 lakhs, more than that most of the car owned by business people as a status symbol (during nineties) and well maintained
++ In highways overtaking other cars like cutting a butter with sharp knife
++ Steering control, bucket seat, safe reverse gear, large boot space, strong body, warning system (alarm/indicator), 3 way seat adjustment and many more
What is -------?
--Yes, there are some problems in finding spares outside the ciities, but this problem there for most of the new cars except Maruthi.
--Spares may be expensive when compare with lower end Maruthi vehicle, however it is affordable when condiering other expenses.
--Low ground clearance, but it gives more control when driving at 140+ km speed
--Poor view for the driver (you can adjust seat), but not for taller folks.
--Difficult to drive in traffic, but not for me. When you drive with small car or new car, even autowalaws never bother about you, because it hits damage is more for you, but it is other way in cielo because of strong body.
--Usually I heard from other ceilo owners its A/C is very good, but mine has some problem and it is no where upto my expectaion.
Conclusion:
Do you love to drive? buy a Ceilo, opt a TVS 24x7 road side assistance (for your mental satisfaction - but avoid repair at TVS network) and feel free to drive any where in South India (especially Tamilnadu).
If you’re buying a car for your comfort, purpose and not for showing your status (by owning new model car) your choice is Daewoo Ceilo
You need to spend more $ for buying a new car atleast 7 lakhs and need to pay more 20k for insurance. Instead, buy a second hand ceilo and use insurance cost for your service, maintenance and enjoy the life.
Tips:
% Estimate the vehicle cost as 50k as max, because that is what the market price, so don’t insure for more than that and pay high premieum
% Regular service is required
% Keep all contact details about spares availability before make a long trip
% You must check how previously car was maintained and its usage.
