I possess a Y2K model Matiz. Yes, I possess one. And am lovin’ it, to borrow a tag line.
This whole thing of ’’will I get parts? will I get service?’’ is all nonsense. I am having NO PROBLEMS at all in getting parts and service. If you are a unaware owner, a con mechanic might try and rip you off... but, otherwise it’s been smooth sailing so far.
I think it’s one of the best designed automobiles ever. To achieve such a fabulous design integrity on a mass small car is a deal worth dying for.
My Matiz gives about 12.5 km/l in the city (AC always on) and over 20 km/l on the highways (again, with AC on). I’ve done about 70, 000 kms in these 5 years, with many long distance drives. Once we did 1300 kms non-stop in 30 hrs. NO PROBLEMO!
So, if you are getting a second hand Matiz for a song, grab it. The only car that comes close to its magic is, probably, the new VW Beetle.
