We have been subscribing to DNA for the past 4 months and we really only read the main section and the weekend magazine that comes with it on Sunday. For the rest of our business new we subscribe to another daily.
When I picked up the newspaper this morning I was shocked to see the picture of our President being lifted off the floor. I was surprised that anyone would flaunt such a photo of this dear man in such a position.
What was DNA trying to do ’EMBARASS THE PRESIDENT’?
I really do not know much about India or Indian politics because of my upbringing abroad but after being here for 3 years I find that I have missed a great deal. I have missed being part of the hustle and bustle of the Indian cities, the fantastic cuisines, the patriotic spirit of my people and THE RESPECT I RECEIVE FROM MY FELLOW INDIANS because this is my country and I am no outsider irrespective of the colour of my skin, the salary that my father earns, the family car or the dilapidated building that we live in.
I have learnt to be proud of my country because no matter where I am and no matter which countrys’ citizen I become I will still be Indian.
My husband loves his country and through him I learn of India and it is his love for India that was contagious for me. Every time I hear our National Anthem being sung it brings tears to my eyes even though I didn’t know the meaning of half of the words until recently. I guess what I feel India is exactly what Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore felt when he wrote Jôno Gôno Mono—(“The Minds of All People")
I wrote an email to the editor and hope that he reads it. You too can read what I wrote. I couldn’t write it any better and I don’t know how to write to an editor but these were the words that came out in my first and final draft.... just like this review. By the way the headline on the paper was ’ Kalam trips and falls!’

Firstly since he is our President may be it wouldn’t hurt to write ’ PRESIDENT Kalam’ trips and falls on your web page. Its really not too late.....to add the respected title to his name.
Do you honestly feel that putting a picture of the President in that state does justice to your newspaper? I honestly thought that DNA was by far the best paper I have come across because of the main section but today both my husband and I were disappointed to see that you had featured that article on the front page with such a PICTURE.
Our President is by far one of the most prized men that this country has produced and you have made him a laughing stock by putting such a photo on your front page.
There are people in this country who quietly observe which paper prints what and judge the papers’ worth. We will be withdrawing our subscription as that we alternatively subscribe to is more than enough.
