My review about DJ is as an employee, because this is an Employer category.


I have worked here for a short stint before leaving it.


I joined as Asst. Manager and worked in the corporate office Kanpur in one of their departments.


My experience with the organization had been positive, but not with my reporting manager.


One thing I found was that probably my manager or the company was holding my appointment letter. Even though they paid the initial salaries, they didn’t hand me over the appointment letter. The DGM said that it was company policy to check if the employee stayed here for long or not. I found that an annoying policy. Probably he was making it up.


The work environment is good. But other employees are usually non-cooperative. The process of getting reports from other employees is not smooth.


There is a general atmosphere of non-professionalism. This is probably because many people here have their godfather working in the senior management. Although, I have seen this in other newspapers too, but not to this scale.


Software access and capabilities were a hindrance at the company. I was a MIS/reporting person, so I needed access to the SAP/whatever software the company had. I had this access at the other newspaper companies I worked, but not here. I had to depend on others for this. You had to remind these people everyday to send you the reports and this was just not productive. Besides, the software weren’t as capable in delivering detailed reports as in other organizations I worked for.


I didn’t have issues with the company, but it was the reporting DGM who was a problem and was probably a psycho. So, I had to leave the organization. The other hurdles could have been ironed out, but not the weirdness of this manager.


Overall, I will recommend the employer. If you have got talent, you can excel here.
