Wanted to test drive the new Honday City S. Went via the Honda City website and booked a test drive. No marks for guessing what happened. Well as you might have guessed, nothing happened!
After a couple of wasted phone calls with the Honda head office, directly called up the Dakshin Honda office in Hosur Road and booked a test drive. I was allotted a sales rep by the name Rajesh who said that he would come to my place on 8-Sep-2012 at 11am. True his word, the guy was there at my door step at the allotted time albeit with a Honda City V as opposed to an S that I had requested. The car was a shade of a disappointment though with the gear, the clutch and the steering be fairly stiff. I must give it to Rajesh though since he warned me of this at the outset itself and apologized profusely. I took the car out for a fair bit of a test drive(~10 odd kms) and Rajesh sat answering my questions as we drove along. Had answers to most of the standard questions too. About an hour after the test drive was over and once Rajesh had left, I got a call from one Mr. Imtiaz who introduced himself as the sales manager and promised to have a City S sent on 15-Sep-2012 along with a person who could evaluate my old car. Waiting for the same.
All in all, I must say that my first experience with Dakshin Honda was a pleasant one though having looked at the other reviews, I guess I must be more careful in the forthcoming steps. Having said that, it appears that lousy service/sales is endemic to all Honda dealers. None of the dealers(Dakshin/Whitefield or Magnum) have gotten any decent reviews in mouthshut
