Afer a nice lunch at Thoodle restrurant along ECR road in chennai, My friends and I went to
DAkshinaChitra museum around 4 pm 29.9.17 which is around a 7 km distance from a hotel.
We took four tickets each cost one twenty rupees. After went inside, my friends found it is
very ineresting [usually they dont show interest in museum].
Houses are built like traditional homes in olden days such as Karnataka, kerala, tamilnadu,
Andrapradesh and telegana styles. We can see the houses waver, potter, farmer etc and also
various houses like chettinad place, Agraharas place, wooden house of Alapuzhas, Muslim house
of calicut, chikmagalur.
Utensils used and all other raditional items used village can be found be here. For a while you will
not feel like museum, you will like you are in grand parents home. Drinking water facility and toilet
available inside. Icecream vendor and juice also available. Parks also available, it is very nice.
Handicrafts stall are available like toys, bags etc.
If you want to see puppet show, you have o be there before 4 pm because show will close at 4 pm.
There are mehandi stalls, parroat joseum, eaching of pottery, dance. There is vasting parking area,
good hotel inside. To cover a place fully, you will take more than four hours.
