Dam999 is an upcoming 3-D UAE-Indian co-production film produced by BizTV Network, UAE and directed by Sohan Roy to be released on Nov 25th 2011. The movie is based on the award winning short Documentary DAMs - The Lethal Water Bombs. & falls in the category of an emotional thriller. Plot:-
After many years two mariners return to homeland with the hope of a new beginning, little did they know about a disaster that would change their destiny.
’Based on a true story’ DAM 999 is a tribute to the 250, 000 souls who lost their lives in the 1975 Banqiao dam disaster in China. The collapse of this dam did not make it to the world for over 15 years. It was worse than what happened at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.DAM999 portrays the realities of life, some shared and some unshared. Navarasa or 9 human emotions are shown by 9 characters in the movie. Just as a Dam holds water, the 9 characters in the movie hold back their emotions, which eventually breaks out during a disaster drawing the audience to a gripping climax. This very factor makes the movie the only one of its kind ever made.
