Daman is very well connected by roads and railways, however, the nearest airports are Surat and Mumbai. The nearest railway station is VAPI which is around 15mins by taxi from and to Daman. You can reach here by road from Mumbai and Surat(from Mumbai 2.5hrs, from Surat 1hr) The best part is that, this place has got one of the cheapest alcohols in India and you can find Wine shops every two steps. Not only beaches but local markets are also very good. You can enjoy from great local food items to international continental delicacies.
The prices of hotels are not very high and the best part is shopping. Stuffs here are very cheap and of good quality.
I stayed in Daman for about 1.5 years during my studies and it was a mesmerizing experience. Every day was awesome, the climate, the local food stalls, the beaches, the drinks, each and every thing.
If you want a good place to relax then daman is your place.
