The Durga in a lady

Daman has witnessed Raveena’s best performance. The violence that is prevalent in most of the Indian households is clearly depicted in Daman. The name Raveena is given in the movie is apt for her action in the second part. The part played by Shinde as Raveena’s husband is a fiercefull character with utmost hatred and crude ways of living. The poor lady Durga[Raveena] undergoes all the problems faced by her until one day when a illicit illegal relationship is detected by her husband with her brother-in-law, played by Sanjay Suri is killed by Shinde himself. Tortured Durga escapes the hands of her cruel husband along with her teenaged daughter played fantastically by the junior Sen. It is the Durga pooja event that brings the climax of the villain at last.

A very good depiction of problems faced by Indian women

Too much of violence depicted
