A TIMELESS CLASSIC

Although this is one of those albums that everyone and their dog seems to own I will write this review to try and convince those of you who have yet to buy it to go ahead and do so.After all its the highest selling rock album ever & its still selling every year .

It’s a classic. It’s an album I listen to as I fall asleep or in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep. I can guarentee you that you will enjoy this album. I listen to it over and over again.

The 1st song Speak is a cool sounding intro. It sets the mood for the album well, and the intensity rises until Breathe slams to a start. This song closes to On the run, which sounds like the inside of a mental house going nuts!. I can’t believe the sound effects that were used in this album, considering the equipment that was available in 1972-73. TIME is easily one of the most lyrically rich song ever. . Without a doubt though, my favorite track on ’’Dark Side..’’ is ’’Brain Damage.’’ This song is just so great, and the lyrics are magic, ’’the lunatic is on the grass...’’ More sound effects on this one with a roadie laughing when Roger Waters says, ’’the lunatic is in my head.’’

The first thing that caught my ear was the really kewl intro ’’Speak to Me’’. Then ’’Breathe started up and I really dug the psychedelic music. And then the vocals started up and I was blown away. It’s very hard to describe the feeling and emotion of the vocals. Gilmour and Waters make an indestructible team. Everybody should experience this kind of music, not just stoners and Floyd freaks (which I suppose is what I am).

All in all, a truly great effort. Get it and join the 25+ million people who have already done so.
