Ram Gopal Verma.....the name itself is enough to bring a spook in you...giving us movies like "Rangeela", "Satya", "Company", "Bhoot" and "Sarkar"...he now brings another spooky tale(which is very hillarious...Darling.
Darling "scores" for 3 vital reasons....
1)The story...which is very different...is handled brilliantly by the master story teller...RGV.
2)In a film like Darling....you have to have a right set of everything....Actors, Backround score and Cinematography....and all the 3 departments in the film score 9 on 10 points.
3)That one song.."Tadap tadap" Rocks!!!!
So..is Darling a paisa vasool film.... the answer is.."YES"......but till 2 hours and 10 mins....
because the last 10 minutes of the film...that is the most important thing of a film...The Climax...is a complete letdown!!!
The culmination to the story is very abrupt....If Fardeen did love Esha...then why did he gave the explanation at the end of the film!!! Why didnt he ask her the reason at the very start when she re-appears.....and why does Esha....such a determined woman(Ghost I should say)..melts in 2 seconds by hearing lovely talks from Fardeen..Mr.Writer.not happening!!!
Darling is a well-made product that does deserve success...but the climax though a spanner...
The film is embellished with not worthy sequences.....The Fardeen-Esha fight at the beginning, Fardeen getting scared from the Eshas gift, The anniversary sequence, The hospital sequnce, The office sequnce...All these parts are really interesting to watch....
Ram Gopal Verma(Director) is in form after a long-long time...especially after the shamefull "RGV ki Aag"...This is one of his finest films...A film like this cannot be imagined without RGV on the directors seat....
Cinematography is excellent...tHe camera work...especial the manual camera work..is superb...
The story and screenplay of the film is impressive....and shows the changing face of Indian cinema...
Music is rocking.."Tadap tadap" is one of the best heard tracks in recent times!!
Esha Deol is the sole of Darling...she enacts her role with aplomb...The hatred, the depression...she shows all of them with elan!!
Fardeen is ok..The role doesnt demand much...but he does a good job..
Isha kopikkar is very irritating...and why does a woman..staying in such a rich and fancy house...wears such clothes!!
The Inspector is sufficient while his secretary is STUPID!!!
At the end, Darling is clapworthy....
