I wouldnt applaud the director for creating a spine-chilling horror/thriller, but trying to make something different in the highly constipated Bollywood is indeed commendable. This was one of the very few times I was actually enjoying the movie - and not enjoying the movie by making fun of it or something (like you do in stupid KKHH kind of stuff).
I agree with the common opinion that the movie was not at all scary, though I used to get startled with the loud bang sound which accompanied critical scene changes :)
I somehow felt that it wouldve been more spooky reading the story as a book. You know - the whole thing is more scary if you try living it yourself. Just imagine you on a dark & lonely highway. And you see whatever Antara Mali saw. How would you feel? Or if you were in the No Smoking hotel. How would you react in that situation? I mean when you are reading a book - you try to imagine and live the scene you are reading. That does not happen in a movie. You see whatever the director wants you to see.
Oh, btw - I felt that the No Smoking hotel story had a shade of Alfred Hitchcocks Psycho.
So, Id urge people to close their eyes an imagine themselves in any one of the six stories. Just feel it. Feel the spookiness. Tab dar lagega
The ending was crap. Just like Bhoot. Though I dont hold that against him. Sushma Reddy is a great looker but does not know how to act.
Kudos for trying something really different. You dont get bored for even a minute. Surely worth a dekkko...
PS: In the end - all of the friends become ghosts. But they dont show Gaurav among them... hmm, do I smell a sequel?
