Dosas in Dasaprakash

Dasaprakash in New Delhi, is part of a South Indian hotel chain. I have been to the Dasaprakash in New Delhi only once or twice, because of its restricted timings, but, my favourite is the Dasaprakash of Mysore. I have never missed it whenever I have visited Mysore.

The Dasaprakash of Delhi gives an impression of grandeur, with a decor having white matching with white. This is visited by those who are strict vegetarians, belonging mostly to South India and Sri Lanka. Economically they are upper-middle class.

The timings are such that one has to go for lunch or high-tea. For lunch the menu is rice, Sambhar, Rasam, vegetable curry, and the concluding dessert is hot Gulab Jamun. For high-tea it is Plain Dosa, Masala Dosa, Vada, Upma and of course Gulab Jamun.

The service is very good and waiters are efficient. Tables are cleanly laid out.

An average lunch cost about Rs.50/- and for high-tea it could be Rs.20/- to Rs.50/- depending upon what one takes.

Dasaprakash, of Mysore greets you with a South Indian flavour. Its Masala Dosa fried in butter is simply superb. Its Mysore Pak Sweet is excellent. And so also the sweet Keshari Bath. Piping hot Mysore Robusta Coffee drieves away all the tiredness in you. And when you leave, you get a sweet masala Beeda Pan, which dissolves within minutes after it is put on the tongue. No one to beat the Mysore Dasaprakash in restaurant business. The Mysore Dasaprakash is also a hotel having very neat and clean AC rooms and non-AC rooms available at reasonable rates.

Dasaprakash is my favourite one. You will like it.
