Honestly speaking , I wasnt very sure to watch this movie or not , but the excellent reviews at MS forced me to go , I mean how could I have missed a movie which was being appreciated a lot and being said as , " Dont Miss This Movie".
Here is what I went throughout the film.
Plot-
A totally brand new plot comes up in this. A guy (Amar Kaul) who is very dumb and unsuccessful in life, hears from his boss everyday etc etc. He is habitual of making a THINGS TO DO list everyday and just goes about with them . The twist comes when he ends up finding out that he has a stomach cancer and his life is only for three months now. He has a mother who is a bit mentally upset as well she is hard of hearing , lives with him. His father is no more and his brother was seperated from the family after getting married with an intercaste girl.
Amar is disheartened to death , starts drinking and thats when he starts hearing his inner voice which provokes him to make a list of all the things he wanted to do before he dies. The idea clicks him and he starts working upon them. From buying a car , to a foreign trip , to expressing his deep love for his childhood friend to learning guitar. He does them all. Rest is worth the watch.
The plot is very interesting , very emotional and keeps you glued to your seats till the end. In some way or the other , you feel yourself related with Amar Kaul and thus feel more into the character. After all , this is how everyone of us would feel if being told our deadline for life...wont we?
Actors-
Vinay Pathak (Amar Kaul)- A class actor for sure. I liked his Bheja Fry to an extent as well and this movie has surpassed all his efforts. He has lost weight which makes him look very smart too. At the same time , his acting at a few scenes will definitely make you cry. The moment when he expresses his love to his friend , the moment when he cries so real and decides to committ suicide , these are just few examples of the emotion he has created and its feel. It is amazingly fabulous. Hats off to him for his great skills. Very nice work.
Neha Dhupia ( Neha) - Hmm , fresh look of Neha. She has been able to do justice to her role and has played her part well. Decent job , unlike of her usual self. Good.
Rajat Kapoor( Rajiv)- I liked his acting right from Corporate to Bheja Fry , and these two guys make hell of a good combo. Rajat has done his role very nicely , short and sweet. Good one too.
Sarita Joshi( Maa)- Amazingly nice act from her. The moment when she gets happy the first time his son buys a car was worth watching. A typical middle class family lady who gets on cloud no.9 on her sons success. All in all , great job.
Gaurav Gera( Vivek)- Although not very impressive and remarkable , still is decent enough. No complaints.
The Russian girl has done well too . That episode shows that love knows no language. Very nice message in a presentable way.
Rest all the characters have played their roles well. To the MTV Roadies lover , please dont miss out Sonal ( Roadies contestant and also said-to-be Ashutoshs girlfriend) as Viveks assistant . She has a mini role of 1 minute having a telephonic conversation with Vinay Pathak.
Music-
Kailash Kher has done a wonderful job yet again , and this time as a music writer too.
I would honestly recommend it to everybody . Please go and watch it , you will find yourself so deeply attached to it that it will leave a memorable taste in your mouth. It gives a message to all of us , who are fearful of something or the other in life , to step ahead and do all we want to , coz we never know , we might not be even able to know when is our last day !!!!!!!!
Also do visit the movies official site too , its worth :)
