Nissan Datsun Go...
This car is supposed to be launched in the month of March.
Pros-
Its a 1200cc car.
Boot space- really amazing!!
Seats- Innovative but it doesn’t feel comfortable, surely not for long journeys, unless you add some good comfortable seat covers.
Interiors- Good. Lots of space, can easily sit 3 people, without having to feel cramped!
Exteriors- Really amazing, on the face design, i.e. aggressive design.
5 speed manual gear box .
Power Steering.
The front seats are joint together. Basically if u have a child, u can make him/her, sit in the middle, on the front seat or if u have some groceries, you can now actually keep it on the front seat, by your side, instead of going to the back and opening up the boot. Its like the Fiat Padmini or Ambassador type design.
Cons-
The seats and plastics used feel cheap.
The tires/tyres, are small compared to the car. (which actually means good mileage)
The doors have a "clank" metallic sound while closing the doors, which you get in a MarUti 800.
Overall-
Its a good car for the price tag its been offered in, price tag starting from 3, 50, 000 to 4, 50, 000 Rupees. Now, if u add some other things like, seat covers and a new music system, even though u wouldn’t need one, with the modern and practical approach they have for a "music system."
You also have blinders on the window..u don’t need black plastic on the windows, this one will come out from the window door panel, by pulling it upwards, for this you might have to pay. The mileage is going to be good, as been told by in ads. I think the Datsun Go will appeal to many people. Its a very very very stiff competition to many other hatchbacks because of its boot space its really fantastic, u can actually fit in a lot in the boot space. Unlike Maruti 800, Maruti Zen, Maruti Wagon R, Hyundai i10, i20, Volkswagen Polo, and many others.
I think a person who drives in and out of the city for work, and needs a decent ac in his/her car, good stability on bad roads, good power steering and good music system and also needs space in the car for luggage and groceries, with good fuel economy.
I think so this is the car to "Go" in. When people buy cars like Chevrolet Beat, and invest close to 6 lakhs behind that tin ka dibba, with no luggage space at all!!and no leg room for back passengers. I think so this car would be a very good replacement.
The only thing, the Nissan people are saying about Datsun Go is that its coming out in base variant. If it has some other variants coming out then it will be within that 450000 range!!! or even less!! The Datsun is here to stay!!
This car will be sold in all Nissan owned showrooms. And till date, and the company which was displaying this car, was "Chandrani Nissan", situated near Topsia and Chinatown crossing. You have to cross the "ILead" stoppage and go a bit further. Coming from Park Circus side it will fall on your left hand side and coming from Science City side the showroom is going to fall on your right hand side.
