A typical " leave your brain behind" kind of comedy flick from Priyadarshan. As usual , the script is one
picked from a 80s malayalam movie and well polished to suit current generation and the bollywood fans.
We all know what Priyadarshan has offered in the past and how much he was made us laugh. Well, there isnt anything new in this movie.
Dont try to search the internet for this movies story. Its hard to explain, even for the very own actor/actress in the movie. As usual, there are more than 2 dozen characters, with misunderstanding between each possible permutation and combination. That forms the crust of the story. If you start naming the characters as a, b, etc., you will end up with A1, B1 and so on..!!
Does confusion alone mean comedy ? Is this all about giving a comedy movie ?
Well, anything that makes you forget all your problems and laugh is a comedy.
Ive seen people going for this movie, laughing like hell and enjoying each bit of the movie, and when they come out, they only blame it saying it is repititive and nothing new. They only forget that they had a good laugh for a few hours, and that is all the movie aims for!!
With priyadarshan offering the movie, one doesnt expect an action packed thriller like Gajini or movies like Chak de!! There are other directors for that. From Priyadharshan, all we expect is a series of confusions, misunderstanding, funny incidents & face reactions, all characters assembling at the same place during climax and fighting out the confusions.
This is exactly what Priyadharshan has offered. If you dont see this movie, you are not going to miss anything major. But, If you watch this one, Im sure you will have a good laugh for a couple of hours.
Music by Preetam is average. Cinematography is ok. The cast performance is good, with everyone looking confused, (like a "monkey that ate ginger")^^^. The ladies have brought out the glamour quotient pretty well.
What amazes me throughout the movie is : how does this guy manage so much of characters, remember their roles and what misunderstanding they have with which other character..??? Writing a screenplay full of confusions is not that easy.. there has to be a proper explanation or narration , else we will have our own Mouthshut writers blasting out the movie on the 1st day.
The climax scene with a bomb blast in swimming pool and water waving throughout the Hotel like a Tsunami is something bit too much but innovative.
But, with movies like 3 idiots, which has comedy as well as a good story and message, these kind of movies are losing their collection.
Bottom line : If you are a person who like to laugh, go for this movie. It will make you do just that.
To watch out: The HOT babes out there in the middle.
