This has to be one of the most painful conditions I ever had. To describe the pain to another woman I would say imagine the pain of child birth but with no let up in between.
It was many years ago that I had this condition but it was one that hit me with no warning. My then husband and I were out shopping and every 5 minutes I was asking him to find a bathroom as I kept having to go. The pressure was so strong yet I hardly did anything when I got to the bathroom.(They come out in your urine)
The I got such a pain that I was literally screaming and I told him to take me home. Now I had reached the point where I couldn’t’go’ at all. I packed my suitcase and called the Dr. I was doubled over in pain by the time I got there and was given a shot of morphine which barely touched it and he sent me to be admitted to the hospital.
If I were to ever have one again, heaven forbid I would not go to the hospital. The same treatment can be given at home and I imagine that it is recommended by now as they don’t put you in the hospital here like they used to.
You would need a pain medication and all you do is drink, drink, drink water. Gallons of it until the stone has passed and you will know without a doubt when it does because it hurts like heck. If you don’t pass it after a few days then you would need to go have it taken out at the hospital.
It is something I never hope I have to go through again and by far the most painful thing I have ever had.If you have frequent urination or lack of urination with pain seek medical help right away.
