Dos and don'ts for 10th-12th graders

Boy! Does this remind me of the tough times I faced in school and college... From the word ’Tough’ I gather it must have a lot to do with studies.. Students today specially the 10th grade and the 12th graders ..go through..what is called as a never ending turmoil of endless sleepless days and nights...

10th Graders:

It starts with the time a student finishes 9th grade..Everyone around him is already telling him what to do and what not to..

Advice: Well, let me tell you, the SSC is is a important year that marks the end of your school life, but it is the beginning or rather the first step that one takes towards accomplishing a bigger goal. The grades(% of marks) that you score here will determine what field you might want to take up. Then again for someone preferring to take up Science...he/she has to have a good percentage of marks to get into a worthy college. Think of your SSC as a stepping stone to your future. But HOW?

  • Make a timetable ’honestly’(keyword) & Follow it. Since you are the best person to judge what suits you and what doesn’t.

Dont let others comments bother you much. Dont be discouraged when friends and parents push you too much. Dont be demotivated by failures.

Think ahead and think of what you could gain by working hard today.

Allot time for studying and spend the rest relaxing..That way you are less likely to complain.

  • Tutions/Classes: Take up a vacation class and keep brushing up on your work. Give all tests and tutorials. REVISE If you are the lazy kind or the forgetful kind( I was), take up classes every month or the Regular classes, so that will help you work continuosly.

  • DONT tire your self to the extent of losing interest in the whole thing.

Be balanced in your approach. Practice meditation regularly for 10 minutes.

12th Graders:

HSc is definitely even a higher reponsibility for students. For many, the career that they envisioned starts shaping up gradually. Many students make up their minds seriously after the 12th grade. But often things get a bit confusing..what with endless opportunities but minimal knowledge about them...

Advice:

  • Take the 11th grade a bit easy, but Build up your ’BASICS’ as you go along.

  • Take tutions/classes and REVISE.

Concentrate on the NEW subjects or the ones you are weak at.

Dont compare yourself with anyone but yourself and notice the change or improvement as u go on.

Make up your mind here to give in your very BEST..For, you will never regret it.

  • Think about your goals and WORK HARD..

  • Gather information and seek the help of elders or COUNSELLARS if required.

  • Choose a career that you think you can EXCEL at..and you will never look back again.

Enjoy school and college. But dont overdo it. Take your freedom in a responsible and matured way. Think before you leap. Keep a balanced attitude toward everything..Then I guess you are all set to go........Have fun & Good Luck!
