Bjork's Debut Album

I found this CD digging in boxes of CD’s. My parents owned this album, so I decided to listen to it, since I love Bjork. I own Bjork’s Homogenic album and I loved it, so it was time to listen to this one. This CD was made in 1993.

The album cover is very simple, same as the one in the corner, Bjork in a fuzzy sweater with her hands in a peace gesture.

The CD starts with Human Behaviour, I really like this song. Bjork’s voice is strong and powerful. Her back up vocals are awesome too. This song is a fun one to sing to. This song is catchy and fun. Bjork’s voice shines in this one. The instruments compliment her voice.

Track 2, Crying, is an interesting title for a really fun song again. There is simple piano playing music and Bjork’s voice singing to the beat, as the chorus comes, it’s almost industrial. I love the chorus, again her voice is powerful. This is a great song to wake you up in the morning. I play this song along with the first track before I go to work.

Track 3, Venus As a Boy, has interesting music, I really like the simple string playing. Bjork’s voice is high. This song is Ok. He believes in BEAUTY!

Track 4, There’s More To Life Than This (Recorded Live at the milk bar toilets), this song starts as a dance song with a crowd of people laughing and talking. Bjork whispers with her playful voice. The back up vocals singing the title of the song are cool. Bjork is singing in the backround. I like this song. The song stops and only Bjork starts to sing alone. This is such a playful song!

Track 5, Like Someone In Love, the harp is so beautiful with her voice. She is singing with the harp softly.

Track 6, Big Time Sensuality, another peppy dance track, Bjork’s voice is muted. To me the instruments have a hint of the 80’s in them. A very fun song. Another excellent song to listen to when ready to go out.

Track 7, One Day, a haunting start. It’s like a baby’s voice along with the instrumental part, it is kind of freaky. Then Bjork comes in’’One day it will happen, one day it will all come true...’’ I like this song because of the instrumental parts and Bjork’s simple https://lyrics.

Track 8, Aeroplane, the wonderful brass. I LOVE THE BRASS! Then the almost jungle music comes with Bjork’s voice. A powerful song.

Track 9, Come To Me, this song sounds really retro for some reason. Bjork’s voice is soft and haunting. ’’Come to me...I will take care of you’’ her voice has a big effect on this song.

Track 10, Violently Happy, I love the title! Bjork’s voice is computer generated and echoes. The dance beats come up as the song progresses. Another great dance track. This is such a song to dance to.

Track 11, The Anchor Song, MY FAVORITE song by Bjork. It was produced by Bjork. The brass are so powerful. The sound so beautiful and almost out of tune. This song is extremely powerful and makes me feel calm with a smile on my face. This song is so different from the rest of the songs on this CD. This is definitely one of my favorite tracks by Bjork. The brass are so powerful!! Such simple lyrics and brass make this song so powerful and amazing.

This CD is a really fun one to dance to and listen to when about to go out. The last track makes me so calm and happy. GREAT CD! I would say this is my favorite Bjork CD.
