Deccan Harvest: A green oasis

Well, if you want to see what a modern township should look like and if you are curious about what the Farmers equity model of township development means, visit Magarpatta city, it really rocks.

The resturant is located in the green oxygen zone of this township and has a beautiful ambience with mood lights and stuff. On the whole the resturant gives you a look of open spaces, unlike the crampness which you often feel at City point biggies like Sigree, Moti Mahal  et al.

We had a buffet, insteadof a la carte and it was value for money at Rs. 299 per head. They dont give you a mineral water bottle unlike some other buffets.

The starters are veg/non veg, 3 each. The chicken ones are good, the mutton ones are ok. Instead of lumps of mutton, they can give some kebabs to make it better. The veg ones are not upto the mark, with Paneer, Potatoes et al being too common or is it in these times of inflation, am I expecting too much @ Rs. 299/=.

Anyways, the live barbecue gives you a feel of goodness and the chill in the air adds to te romance and in between if you have to take a leak after having a beer or two( which is not included in the buffet) dont feel surprised to go to loos which by Pune standards of pathetic washrooms( the most pathetic being one at Sigree which incidentally Time Food Guide rates as Best North Indian Resturant) is still better.

The Main course is again ike any food at any marriage reception, greasy and tasting the same. The chicken dishes had two names but it tasted the same and I must hastily add before the reader gets an impression, that food is not bad at all. It is just that the starters start giving you a resonably heavy feeling. Paneer dishes were good and the dal could have seen better hands while cooking.

I felt let down as they just offerred me Vanilla Icecream as a sweet. At least a choice could be given. Sufferring from cold I missed out on that.

The staff is non intrusive and almost absent at most of the times. You really have to shout around to get attention.

So what are the plusses:

  1. You want to enjoy catch up time wid family in open spaces and beautiful ambience. Live grill and an extended dinner is what this place gives you. The food is not bad at all, but for this evening the food should not be your priority.

  2. Children can play in their lawns and play area and this place is ideal for them. An excellent collection of wine adds to the spirits.

And minuses:

The only one is that if you are a food connoisuer with a taste for fine dining and you want the service to be impeccable, you will perhaps feel disappointed.

Just  a quick note.may the resturant inside fares better on all of these counts. I just have to visit again to check up.

Guys its a must visit
