The plot is about Raj Goel (Akshaye Khanna), a famous lawyer who has never lost a case. He helps the innocent and can be bad with the guilty. Sargam (Urmila Matondkar), is a pretty dancer-cum-singer who hires Raj to defend her friend and guru Tarang Bharadwaj (Ajay Devgan). Tarang has been caught in a case of murder.Tarang is caught red-handed running away from the site of music baron Ashwin Mehta’s (Vijayendra Ghatge) murder.
No one has seen him doing the murder, but since he is found running at the site, he is caught. Sargam believes he is innocent and so does he claim, he’s very innocent and manages to convince Raj that he is being framed. Raj now loves Sargam and so doesnt accept any fees from her. So Raj takes up the challenge of defending him and out they go to find the real killer.
Tarang proves to have a clean record but later it comes to the notice of Raj, that Tarang suffers from split personality sydnodrome .Surprisingly enough, truth and justice is trapped in felony, instead of vice-versa; the wise Raj is caught in an unwise web...
What has happened? who is the real killer? What is the relation of Tarang’s split personality with the murder?
Ajay Devgan as Tarang, has given an excellent performace. He has got into the character and done extremely well.
Akshaye Khanna has also done his part with ease and the movie has one of his best performances.
Urmila Matondkar as the cute faced girlhas done well too that too in a limited role.
Seema Biswas has a small role to do as Tarang’s doctor.
The first half of the movie is just too good. Till the first half, the murderer is not known and the reason is not known as well.The first part keeps the viewer glued to the screen. Because, the greater part of the pre-interval is handled with ’split personality’--dual behaviour of a man.
The story is excellent and the court proceedings have been taken up properly. But the second half tends to move slowly. It shows a fearing Urmila where you will find the sequences a bit irritating.
Overall an excellent movie to keep you entertained. Perhaps many of you wouldnt have seen this movie. I hadnt seen the movie at first but then when I gave it a try - it was superb. So make sure you watch the movie, if you haven’t.
