Worth Watching Once.

I watched this movie a day after watching a horrible movie Dum(check out my reivew on Dum if time permits) and it was a big relief. Starring Ajay Devgan, Akshay Khanna, and Urmila Matondkar this movie impressed me. Here are my thoughts on Deewangee:

Plot

Its about a singer (Urmila Mantodkar), a lawyer (Akshay Khanna), and Urmila’s Guru, Ajay Devgan. The movie starts off with a murder of the owner of a music company and Ajay Devgan is arrested for the murder. Urmila Matondkar reaches out Akshay Khanna for help because she believes Ajay Devgan is innocent. What happens next??? Is Ajay Devgan the killer or not? If he is, then what’s his purpose behind the killing? Is he found guilty by the court? If he is does he ends up dying? If he isn’t what would he do after coming out of jail??

To know all the answers watch Deewangee.

PROS

The script of the movie is impressive.

Akshay and Urmila are good in this movie but Ajay Devgan clearly steals the show with his excellent performance. The movie is supposed to be a suspense thriller and there is a good deal of suspense especially in the first half of the movie. The sound effects are impressive and Anees Bazmee, a rather unknown director deserves a pat on his back.

CONS

There aren’t any in the first half, but the movie loses pace in the second half and becomes quite predictable and the viewers are left awaiting the finish line. Also the music of the movie is a let down. The songs fail to impress and a few of them are there just to strech the movie to three hours. A few questions are left unanswered in the movie but won’t write them down for sake of those who haven’t seen the movie yet.

Conclusion

I would recommend everyone to watch this movie at least once and I can confidently say that the movie won’t disappoint.
