What’s your opinion on AGNI III failure, this is the request made by our *writer Ms. Kamini, wisely so, like us even she is concerned about India’s future security, never know when MUSHY or CHINI our neighbors might attack us. But I don’t see AGNI III test as our failure.
Like you’ll even I don’t believe in failures, remember there is a saying: There are 2 kinds of failures, 1 those who thought and never did, and 2 those who did and never thought.
Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), is the organization which has developed AGNI I, AGNI II and AGNI III, to be frank I don’t know much about the DRDO, as I have not work there nor I am nuclear scientist, I am just a common man like you who gathers all the information from Media or news channels and today some of my views are based on the articles which I have read through various newspapers and news channels.
According to the media the test was supposed to be taken in the month of December 2006, I just don’t know what provoked DRDO to test fire the Agni III Missile before schedule time, which was of nuclear capability, Media has blame the current government for the failure, as our current government, just to convey the message to the opposition parties that it had no plan to shelve the missile programmed under external pressure, it has test fired it before the schedule time, as we all know Uncle SAM, there were pressure from US on India to cap its missile programmed, because Agni 3 is supposed to be highly sophisticated. Though Indian Government has officially blamed the Design of the AGNI III. But we all have to agree that there was technical flaws during the test fire of the missile and the experts says that the ground-testing of various systems was not done successfully.
But there is also news that the extended range of AGNI III has something to do with China, as majority of Indians think that China is the number one enemy of India, rightly so. China do monitor our weapon development activities, as it has reacted quite angrily to the AGNI III test, because now the AGNI III has exceeded from 1200 kms in 1998 to 3000 Kms 2006, which can be easily reach cities in China, we can say AGNI III has been developed keeping China in mind.
But our Indian government has announced that AGNI III is not any country specific. We all should be proud now, as India is head to head in Ariel warfare with China, including nuclear aerial warfare. Today India, thanks to DRDO we are solid-fuelled now, we are the host of critical technologies, such as a highly improved guidance and control, mission sequencing, all carbon composite re-entry heat shield, mobile launch systems and a modern launch complex.
But AGNI III has failed to acquire its limit of 3500 Kms; we have to agree to that. Now DRDO says that it would take upto eight months to a year for detecting flaws and producing a fresh prototype for test firing. It will require a minimum of three to four tests in rapid succession to validate a weapon system before its design is sealed for production.
