Our trip to dehradun was amazing! we started our journey late in morning and we reached after 2hours.it is very beautiful. Rocks were cut to make a spiral passage to city which made it more beautiful & naturThe first sight of the city was made pleasant by the view of the mountain range with lit up houses crawling downwards from the top.
Rajpur road was a main hangout spot where locals as well as tourists would gather to enjoy local food, shop & take a promenade.Nearby is another tourist getaway - a water body called Sahastra Dhara which we visited next day, a nice to way refresh & as well as sort of adventurous to take a bath in the chilling water coming direcAfter enjoying another evening at Rajpur road tasting local cuisine & savoring on rolls our trip to the city came to a pleasant endtly from mountains.Dehradun is a great place with wonderful climate all year round. There is never extreme heat in the place.
Of course the greatest charm of Dehradun is Mussoorie itself but the city itself has lots to see and enjoy.
The Indian Military Acdemys Biannual Passing out parade is a sight to see. The buildings and the forests under the Forest Research Institute are no laggards either. The path to Mussoorie itself is one of the best places to go "just for a drive".
Coming to food. Do not miss out on Kumar Sweets delicious Indian Mithais. There are a plethora of decent restaurants along the Rajpur Road.
Dehradun is famous for its schools. Doon school, Welhams, St. Josephs, CJM, KV just to name a few.Dehradun is popular for its schools and is responsible for educating well known celebrities like Kareena Kapoor(Welham Girls), Udita Goswami(Scholars Home), Lakshmi Rana(Brightlands), Archna Puran Singh, Nivedita Basu( Creative Director Balaji Telefilms studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya Dehradun) and the list is endless.
