Tony Scott who has seen a sort of revival in style lately with the entertaining “Spy Game”, “Man on Fire”(wont talk much about his previous flick “Domino”) teams up with Denzel Washington for his new movie “Déjà vu” also starring are Val Kilmer and Jim Caviezel
Without going much in detail, ATF agent Doug Carlin(Washington) is trying to find a terrorist who is responsible for the explosion of a ferry and the death of more than 500 people in New Orleans. The inquiry is marked by the discovery of the corpse of a woman Claire(Patton) near the scene of the crime but who apparently died before the explosion. Doug is then contacted by a special team lead by FBI agent Pryzwarra(Val Kilmer) who offer him to study the case with a brand new technology that allows them to see in the past. As time goes on Doug gets more and more emotionally involved as he discovers he can interact with the past and yet cant save the people in the ferry or the girl with whom he has obviously fallen in love(sic). So he decides to take things in his own hands and manages to time travel to the past hoping to avoid the destruction and catch the terrorist(Jim Caviezel) and save Claire.

As with any films toying with space-time continuum, "Deja Vu" suffers from serious plot holes with very little entertainment to offer. This is like the watered down version of “Minority Report “add to it it’s a pretty long movie too
Washington, as usual, provides a solid presence for the film although his performance is a step down from the earlier "Inside Man." But his conviction for the case, makes it easier for the audience to go along with the story. Jim Caviezel as the villain, Kilmer, Adam Goldberg, and a bunch of others are merely drifting along, though.
But this movie is not all that bad(some of my friends liked it), I was just expecting another stylish Tony Scott movie was disappointed, my take is giving this movie a miss; instead watch “Blood Diamond” which is in the theatres.
