I love Schezwan Sauce, It goes with every thing from parathas or fried items or for using as a pizza sauce and mainly as an add-on for Chinese food.
I bought Del Monte’s Schezwan sauce because it was available at a great discount at supermarket. I thought Del Monte being a bid brand it’s tastye would also be fine. But I was wrong, it does not taste like schezwan at all. Let me tell you schezwan sauce is made from soaking dried red chilles in vinegar and then they add garlic, ginger and other spices to it.
The sauce itself should not be a fine paste it must contain smaller granules of garlic ginger and red chillies.
But del monte’s schezwam sauce had nothing to do with it, the consistency was very poor kind of runny and no granules of any spice it was a fine paste as they have used powdered ingredients.It lacked that spicy ans sweet and tangy flavour.You can but Ching, s schezwan sauce that is far better than this.
