True Indian essence - at its real best ....

Again a movie close to reality , shaking our inner selves and throwing us deep into embarrassment for showing the evil inside us onscreen.

R v really human or a bad monkey who has its finger nails scratching each one of us and other for its own survival? Isnt the current world survival of the fittest ? which someday becomes Muslims by rocking our worlds for bombing our cities or someday any other political riots ?

Delhi - 6 shows us the true image of what humanity has been left today! Its not rich or poor , its just fights , based on one issue or the other . Ppl r ready to slash other’s head off , jst with a drop of a remark. Is this what living in peace means? If at all it exists.... coz everyday when I enter a mall or a theater.

I am afraid if I would ever be able to see my family again...coz who knows when these human criminals would make my last day ! SO , who is God? They who let us live by sitting quiet there , in their homes , preparing for a devastation tomorrow ? and who is Evil ? Us all , who are doing nothing but to wait for that destiny to end our world before time someday ???

The movie is not about love , its about the communal riots and the reasons which can pick them up , within no time. It shows that its the evil monkey inside us who triggers them and gives other a reason to fight and kill.Abhishek Bachchan - As Roshan . A guy who is a son of a Hindu - Muslim parent , settled in New York , belonging to Chandi Chowk , Delhi-110006 , along with his grandmother .

When she falls ill and pleads to be taken back to Delhi , he becomes the good son and initiates interest. Perhaps , his best movies till date I would say. Although the movie for being only for masses and not for classes , I am sure his role would not get the acknowledgement I wish he would have had.

An ideal son , an ideal grand-son , an ideal lover & despite being an American , shows his love for his mother India and stays back for it. His patience and his love even in small little things is much appreciable , that is the way he has acted , is worth appreciating.

Sonam Kapoor- As Bittu . A typical Indian girl , who has her own dreams of becoming an Indian Idol for which she practices everytime . She denies the pressure of getting married and chases her dreams. Very well acted Sonam . She is pretty , young and certainly gives that Fresh Face feel to the screen. Thank God , no more Priyanka and Kareena ! Her down to earth , close to real makeup , salwar- suits look has brought a lot of freshness in the movie. Her role is less but meaningful and she would definitely be given the credit for this one atleast.

Waheeda Rehman - As Roshan’s Grandmother . She is a lady who is not well , at the last stage of brain tumour and is diagnosed to be counting her last days. She is a lady who faints and after 10 mintues , she is seen worshipping our very own Cow as Goddess giving birth at the middle of the road , considering it to be Holy . After a long time on screen , she looks like a natural Indian grandmom .

Grey hair , silk and cotton sarees and the very own , blackmailing attitude. Good role from her too .Rishi Kapoor- As Ali Beg . A friend of Roshan’s dad , and also a lover of his mom , who could not tell her well in time then. Is a loyal friend , a loyal lover , to an extent that he dint marry henceforth in his life , a loyal, trustworthy person and a nice guy .

Well , much suited role to his age . As my last review on Luck By Chance , he did not give the feel of overly-hyped characters and loud too. He was presented very well , so good one from him !

All the other characters are genuine in their roles but I would like to mention the role of Jalebi here as well . Its played by Divya Dutta. One role which was not to be played easily as well as could have been easily missed out upon , but she has made it worth a mention. A brilliant act , superb get up and fabulous dialogue delivery. I am sure she would have practised a lot for that .

What is worth loving about Delhi-6 ? The true Delhi culture , the same old crowd , the rickshwallas , the jalebi shops , the Indian essense , the temple and the masjid , the prayer at Jama Masjid , the Taj Mahal and its echo , the picturisation and balance of the Black Monkey who was in real means a psycho criminal in a monkey mask in Delhi and at the same time , relating it with the evils inside us , the play of Ram- Leela , the Hindu- Muslim riots .

The Loopholes - Its not easily digestible that a guy who has never been to India , on his short visit falls in love with that messy place so soon and to that depth , which brings him to the edge of his life at the end.The Indian culture and such crowdy places like Chandni Chowk , its getting a bit too much for the Indian cinema to handle that now.

The movies like Traffic Signal , Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi , Slum Dog Millionaire , Outsourced and now Delhi- 6 , all these movies are to a big extent contributing towards a fact that India is more of a poor and slumy country , which is not entirely true as we have some developments as well , which are totally missed out upon. Since these flicks are being spread worldwide , I wonder what an image will we have on the foreign minds , as if it was not already bad !!!!

Music - Every song is well in place .In fact the song , "Dil Gira Dafatan " is a classic blend of Roshan’s thought and love of New York and Delhi . I have never seen a blend like this before. Hats off to the editors of the song , they have actually given it a very unique Indo- West feel unlike before.

All in all , a movie which shd nt be missed by ppl who atleast call thmslves a Class- Cinema Audience ! For those who r more inclined towards those unreal , commercial and materialistic world all the times , you may give it a miss.
