DTC-Dekho Traffic Chala (Ja Raha Hai)

DTC, or Delhi Transport Corporation has completed its fifty years long time back, well if we look at all the things the organisation has to offer, we find that it is seriously lacking in some parts. First of all, there is no safety for anyone, a woman or a man either on the bus. A woman can be eve-teased, a man robbed (dusnt happen completely the other way round, I havent heard of a man being eve-teased:) but a woman can be robbed too (though that case is unheard off too)) Secondly, the services offered are meagre and bad, I mean really bad. The conductor is harsh and gruff and disgusting at times. There is generally no place to sit if u catch the bus in the middle of its journey. If u sit on the bus at the very beginning, I am sorry folks u will have to wait for some hours (at the most 1) for the bus to start. The tickets are cheap but thats all that is there, many guys are WT (without ticket) who keep on hiding behind other people on a crowded bus so that the harassed conductor doesnt catch him and ask for the precious 2 rupees to spend on a ticket. One of the new gimmik is to say, ’’Agle he stop pe to utarna hai’’ (I have to get off on the next stop only) so that the conductor dusnt charge anything. I wouldn’t recommend travelling by A DTC bus to even my enemy, coz it is one of the most, pathetic service offered by the Delhi Govt, without any maintainance and without any kind if help to first time travellers.

Well, ok this is a PS after I read Anuj’s comment, he is actually right! While writing this review I didnt give a single thought to the comparison b/w Blue Line and DTC buses, well I have travelled a lot by Blue Lines also, since they occur at a much higher frequency than DTC buses. One of the things that Blue Lines are notorious for is, WAITING. They wait for too too too long at a single stop specially if it is a terminal, till their buses fill to the overflowing. It is a very common site at the Nehru Place terminal to find 2 or 3 412s lined up and each one shouting, ’’yeh pehle jayegi’’ (this one will go first), and DTCs dont haggle and dont stop for too long, infact people on a stop have to run to catch it.
