A perfect system for all kinds of users

The best part of having a DELL computer system is that it has free lifetime technical support. This should not be confused with the notion that a technician will be sent to your place to troubleshoot. What you are getting is free consulting support on the phone. You can call the support guys anytime and they will help you on the phone with just about any problem.

Of course you got to have patience. Also you have one year onsite service which is if any hardware part goes bad a technician will come at your place and replace the bad part.Which part has gone bad would be determined by the technician on the phone. So if you face any serious problems with your computer you would need to have a lot of patience on the phone with the technician.

Let me also tell you that you are not entitled to a technician coming at your place and trying to find the fault or helping you removing small errors at any time. You would be expected to troubleshoot with the technician on the phone first and then only if anything is to be replaced then only you would get a technician at your place.

You might even have to go to the extent of opening up your computer tower and fiddling with the parts inside with the telephone tech’s help. But you dont need to worry about that as dell computers are designed in such a manner that even a kid can open it , especially DIM 8250, and the telephone tech would help you with all the instructions you need to carry out.

Hey but this is only if something goes bad !No company gives you a tech at your place (and even if they do they charge you like anything ) and besides DIM 8250 is not a system which will go bad.

Now coming to the DIM 8250 system , it is one system which can be configured to any persons’ taste , be it a home user , a real techie , or a person who just wants to surf the internet or for professional purposes.

The exact technical details are as follows:

1 - Microprocessor type : Intel® Pentium® 4( Its real fast !!!)

2 - Integ NIC : Integrated PCI Network Interface with ASF support as defined by DMTF ( That means you can connect your cable modem for internet directly to the tower without the need of adding any card inside)

3 - Memory : You need to add RDRAM type of memory cards. The maximum amount of memory that can be added is 1.5 GB to 2 GB.RDRAM type of memory cards are the fastest amongst of all.(for people who dont understand this dont bother about it. A total of 256 MB would be enough and to play most high end games 512 MB would be sufficient)

4 - Audio : Integrated audio (That means you dont have to add a sound card. One can add a sound card if you want hi-fi sound on your computer and are willing to shell extra for it. If you take my suggestion and you are a normal home user you dont need to add anything extra).

5 - PCI slots : No of slots are 4 . (You need to have these slots to expand your computer system with more features. For eg. You can add a sound card to your system by inserting the card on one of these slots. You can also add an internal modem card for a dial-up connection).

6 - Video : You have a 4X AGP slot. (You can add a video card here. You can go in for any video card but it should be a 4X card. You cannot add an 8x card as it is a 4X slot).

7 - Ports : 1 Parallel Port

1 Serial Port

8 USB 2.0 Ports

( For people who dont understand this , you may have a printer which might go only into a parallel or a serial port . So you can connect such printers in this computer. You also can connect a printer which needs to be connected to an USB port.Besides you have 8 USB ports , that means you can connect 8 USB devices for eg. devices like webcam , scanner etc.)

8 - Drives : two 5.25-inch bays and two 3.5-inch bays

(You can also add two 5.25 inch cdrom drives or dvdrom drives or you can mix them up. You can also add two 3.25 inch floppy drives or a zip drive and floppy drive ) :

: two bays for 1-inch?high IDE hard drives

(If you want more space on your harddrive you can add 2 harddrives too. For normal home users one would be highly sufficient. For people who keep highly confidential or important data you can have 2 drives so that you can store the data in the other drive due to which if everything needs to be installed again you wont be losing data)

So with these kinda features who wouldnt go for this computer. You can add features according to your need. You can add more memory if you are a high end gamer. You can add an additional sound card. You can add a firewire card( IEEE 1394 card) to do a data transfer from your older computer or transfer videos from your camcorder or you can keep it simple by not adding anything if you just want to use it for internet.

Also go in for an antivirus. If you want my suggestion purchase Mc Afee and specifically dont go for Norton antivirus. I have had a very bad experiance with Norton. Norton not only makes your computer slow but also sometimes prevents you from going to the internet sometimes in cases of spyware issues. So Mc Afee would be the best option.

This particular model is one of the best as far as my experiance goes. Its very easy to open too.You dont need screw drivers for it. So from all possible angles it seems to be the best. And if you do need more information you can always contact me. I would be glad to help you out.

I read the review about this before. I think its once in a thousand kinda case. Everything said and done you can configure the DIM 8250 as per your needs and as per the weight of your pocket. And with Dells’ great service you dont need to worry about anything.

P.S. I haven’t filled anything below as I have mentioned everything above.
