Good buy if at 950 or less

Standard Model: 2.6-GHz Mobile Pentium 4-M 256MB DDR SDRAM 30GB 4, 200-rpm hard drive Intel 82855 GME graphics Dell TrueMobile 802.11g wireless DVD/CD-RW combo drive two USB 2.0 ports 15-inch XGA 7.7-pound system weight (8.8-pound travel weight) Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.

Let me explain my situation: I am at a college in the US with a study visa. So a laptop which would perform as a desktop was what I wanted. This little thing came to rescue.

PROS::1) Great battery life for a desktop replacement(3hrs and more) 2) Good Performance(runs high resolution online games without a problem) 3) All basic features like wireless, Ethernet card, scroll for mouse(touchpad) etc 4) Solid structure and small as a 15? screen 5) Low Price(if you are getting bellow $1000 GO FOR IT)

CONS::1) NO BASS at all( I mean you really cant get a bang out of the inbuilt speakers) 2) NOT GOOD LOOKING, I LOVE APPLE 3) On the heavy side, but ok for desktop replacements 4)The Touch pad is known to go bad or act like a drunk(shakes the poinet etc) in about 4, 5 months. I havnt seen this problem as yet, but still have an optical mouse. 5) NO Card reader. That?s it cant read SD MM FLASH card etc 6) the USB ports are at the back which is a little inconvenient

OVERALL:: Great if you want performance for price over looks and convenience. I recommend it if you are short of money or something. Suggestions: Try the same with 512MB RAM and 40GB and look for something near $1000(if below 950 GO FOR IT)
