Dell - Not worth it!!

Hi, I had to purchase a laptop for my MBA studies hence decided to go for dell as I had heard from many people that Dell is renowned for its service. I zeroed in on Inspiron 1420(the model is discontinued now since Dell wants to push 1525). The laptop is nice in looks. The keyboard and the keys are very easy to use. The problem started with the third month. List of problems: 1> Battery: The battery gets overheated sometimes and hence it becomes little difficult to work comfortably. 2> Blue Screen error: 6 of 10 friends that had brought the laptop with me are experiencing the same problem. The laptop crashes and computer restarts. 3> Customer Care service: The part of Dell which I had banked upon Disappointed me the most. The attitude of the technical support people is pathetic to say the least. They are least bothered to help you. They will run a test or two and then easily say that we need to reinstall the OS.how convenient! Imagine what all have I gone through. " Sir, do you have a Screw driver?" "Sir, we send our technicians but you will have to pay, are you ready to pay?" Imagine the plight of the customer.I am aghast at their service and I am also echoing the views of many of my colleagues who have brought laptops from Dell. Conclusion: Go for an established brand like HP or even Acer for that matter which can be serviced easily. Dell may be great worldwide but in India where the state of the service sector is terrible, I would advice against going for Dell.
