I brought a Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop just 4 months back and last week the battery stopped working. I called up the Dell Customer case (India- Banglore) and I should tell you that they are the worst customer care folks I have ever talked to. The Manager is just an idiot.
Although I have purchased the Laptop and warranty in UK , the same is not applicable in india. The customer care rep told me that the Battery will be replaced provided you buy the warrany again in India. The mission of Dell is to sell cheap electronics and get continous source of revenue by doing the maintenace of their low quality products.
I did check few of my friends who were having the Dell laptops. They all faced issues with the Battery. What I understood is that in order to price relatively less they are sourcing cheap components from China. I though of sharing my experience so that others who are wanting to buy Laptops can avoid Dell. Note: Two months back the touch pad also stopped working and I started using an external mouse.
