Dell Hell

OK, this is a long story but here it goes.

I brought a Dell Inspiron 1525 when I was in UK. After 1 year, I brought additional 3 year international warranty to avoid any headaches.

The laptop was giving issues since I brought it, bluetooth gone, wifi faulty, BSOD, RAM fried and so on. I would call CC and they would ask me to go to service centre or send the faulty part and ask me to replace if I feel confident.

Then I moved to India.

The hinge became loose. There is one year still left on warranty. I am told that this problem will not be covered under this warranty in India. They call it wear and tear. I googled and realised that it is a common complaint. They ask me to buy another 10 thousand rupees warranty, only then they will touch it. Otherwise they will charge me even for a visit. Remember I already have a Next Business Day warranty remaining for another year.

So after many hours with idiots on phone and 2 visits to service centre. If I open the lid the current useless warranty will be void so I am clueless at this point what to do about this useless piece of junk that I have brought along with the warranty.

Obviously this was my last Dell.
