I bought a Dell 1564 laptop from dell in April, 2010. 1 month later, windows randomly crashed, and dell couldnt fix the problem. After changing my hard drive once, replacing the windows 7 re-installation disk, and still not being able to fix the problem, they decided to replace the laptop at my request. They started behaving as if they were doing me a huge favor by replacing the system, and stressed the fact that they dont normally do this. It was a "special case". When I asked for compensation, they were extremely rude, and said that they have a no compensation policy. Theyre customer care doesnt know how to treat customers.
After I sent the signed replacement documents back, they never got back to me about the replacement. I got more reminder emails from them saying that I had not sent the signed documents. When I called them, they said that they had received the documents, and they would pick up the system in 2 days. However, many many calls and 2 weeks later, the system had still not been picked up. Then I sent emails to the corporate addresses of michael dell.
These were forwarded to the escalations office in India, and some person called Arun Kumar started handling my case. He told me the case would be "expedited". However, one month later, dell has STILL not picked up my system. They are arguing with me that they want ME to pack the system. I told them to go to hell, Im not spending another cent on this shitty laptop, it doesnt even work. But they dont care about the consumer.
I havent been able to use the laptop for 4 months. And they are not even replacing or refunding my laptop money. Please, if you want to buy a dell laptop, I would very strongly suggest you go for HP instead. I am suing dell for harassment and mental duress.
DONT BUY FROM DELL, THEIR PRODUCTS ARE USELESS, AND THEIR AFTER-SALES SERVICES ARE BULLSHIT.
