Decent

I got the base model, the lowest of the three specs offered by dell. The laptop looks really cool and is not heavy. Many ppl crib about the performance of the celeron processor. But from using it heavily for the past 4 months here is what I say about the performance of the celeron. It is really good for running windows and linux, and basic applications and the non graphic production software. Now what I mean by this is that, the processor is good enough and fast enough for ppl who browse the net, listen to music, watch movies, use Office and maybe basic web designing and stuff. But a BIG NO to games, this laptop is just not made for games. I got myself an Xbox for that so I was ready for that compromise with this laptop. It really sucks when it comes to games, infact this is the first machine I have seen slowing down a strategy game. So if u even have a remote interest in playing games and you don’t own an Xbox or PS2 (Gamecube sucks btw, except for Resident Evil), then you are much better of shelling out a few hundred more and getting a P4 or M processor laptop which plays games decently. But trust me, spend those bucks on an Xbox or PS2 and you wont regret it. This strategy worked out just fine for me. In all the other aspects, the laptop is top, great keyboard, nice screen, easy to carry around, battery life not as great as expected but still ok. Overall I recommend this PC to students who need a laptop for doing their assignments and projects ( except DPA students who will need a monster of a machine for MAYA and stuff) and to ppl who want it for basic use such as internet, movies, music etc.
