I bought my Dell Inspiron 5160 at the end of October 2004. Exactly one year and one week later, after the warranty expired, my laptop will not boot past the first screen that says DELL, which indicates a serious hardware problem.
I called Dell customer service, and of course all the tech support/extended warranty department is off-shore in India. They could care less about whether or not I am satisfied or dissatisfied with the product or Dells customer service, all they want is the money to extend the warranty ($50.00) plus the cost of the parts and labor. I am furious that Dell has sold me a shoddy product.
So, I asked if I could talk to someone in the US about this. I was told that it was impossible, and they would not give me a number for me to be able to speak directly to the corporate office about my concerns. I am so angry. I will never buy another Dell ever! Not only does Dell sell a shoddy product but they also do not care about their customers. They would rather pay someone in India $2.00 an hour to handle their business.
