I have recently bought a Dell Inspiron 6400 with the following spec.s:
*T 7200 2.0 Ghz
667 Mhz FSB 4Mb L2 Cache
2GB DDR2 RAM at 667 Mhz
15.4’’ Screen with SWXGA(Better then Trulife)
80Gb 5400rpm HD
9 Cell battery
and all the other standard stuff but no carry case.
This config cost me 56, 000 after Tax in the U.S.
The same config.(you have to choose a T5600 Processor as T7200 is not offered yet in India) in India would cost around 95, 000 after Tax.
So my suggestion is.if you plan to travel to U.S. ot have some one there, then try to buy your Dell there. I am yet to get my hands on the Laptop I bought but from past expaeriences and user reviews I think this was a good buy.
Looks like Dell sources it Stuff from Malayasia and this could add to the cost. I am sure with time the prices here in India and abroad would become more or less the same. But one thing is for sure and that is Dell is the leader in terms of value for money.
I am sure most of us dont need a fingerprint reader or a face recognition capability. So, why shell out more money for somehting that we dont need.
